Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Amy spent five years at the University of Saskatchewan studying Sociology and Women and Gender Studies while also competing in varsity wrestling. They later relocated to Calgary to pursue Film and Video Production at SAIT, where they began building their career in the film industry. 

Amy currently serves as the Craft Service Caucus Chair and Pride Chair for IATSE Local 212, where they have been a member since 2013. 

An avid traveler, Amy rode their motorcycle to San Francisco this past summer to ride in the Pride Parade with the Dykes on Bikes. After spending two months immersed in a community of queer motorcycle riders, they were inspired to begin organizing a Dykes on Bikes chapter in Calgary.
