
Doug Boney

Doug is the Assistant Executive Director of the Costume Designers Guild, IATSE Local 892. Doug joined the IATSE in 2010 as a member of Local 871, where he served on the board and as Vice President, and is a former Business Representative for Local 884, The Studio Teachers. Doug also serves as the chairperson for the District 2 Diversity Committee, is a member of the California IATSE Council, and serves on the planning committee for MPTF’s Day at the Ranch. Additionally, Doug is the IATSE representative on the National Executive Board of Pride@Work, an LGBTQIA+ constituency group with the AFL-CIO, and serves as President of the Los Angeles chapter. Previously to moving into his current representational work, Doug worked for several years as a Production Coordinator for television.
Doug’s labor and queer advocacy work inspired him to go back and finish college in 2021 and he graduated the following year with a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies with a concentration in Gender and Sexualities in Communities of Color from California State University – East Bay, with support from the IATSE LEAP program.
Outside of work and queer advocacy, Doug enjoys traveling, collecting & making art, and reading. He can usually be found in the kitchen baking bread, pies, and pastries at all times of the day and night.
