Regional Coordinator
Jenny Reeves
(she/her)

Jenny is a queer cisgender woman (she/her) who resides in Kjipuktuk, on the unceded and ancestral territory of the Mi’kmaq (also known as Halifax, Nova Scotia). As a settler, she also acknowledges the rich history of people of African descent and their contributions to the fabric of Nova Scotia for more than 400 years.
Jenny was elected President in 2017 of I.A.T.S.E. Local 849, a mixed motion picture local in Atlantic Canada. In addition to her duties at the local, she is a General Vice President of the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour, and serves on its Anti-Racism and Human Rights Committee, and is active in the Halifax-Dartmouth District Labour Council.
Jenny worked various jobs in many industries before finding a home in the IA, working in the motion picture industry in the craft service, construction and transport departments. She is a passionate feminist and activist, using her privilege to speak up and speak out about inequity in her workplaces and community.
Jenny is a self professed food nerd who loves to get creative in the kitchen, and takes joy in preparing a meal to share with family, chosen family and friends. When she isn’t working on a show or engaged in union work, Jenny can be found—or not found—at her off-grid cabin, puttering, fishing, kayaking, barbecuing, and spending quality time with her partner of 20 years.
