DESCRIPTION:The Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR)\, also known as the International Transgender Day of Remembrance\, has been observed annually (from its inception) on November 20 as a day to memorialize those who have been murdered as a result of transphobia. The day was founded to draw attention to the continued violence endured by transgender people. \nTransgender Day of Remembrance was founded in 1999 by a small group\, including Gwendolyn Ann Smith\, to memorialize the murder of transgender woman Rita Hester in Allston\, Massachusetts. SUMMARY:Spirit Day (Anti-Bullying)
DESCRIPTION:Spirit Day is an annual LGBTQ awareness day observed on the third Thursday in October. Started in 2010 by Canadian teenager Brittany McMillan\, it was initially created in response to a rash of widely publicized bullying-related suicides of gay school students in 2010\, including that of Tyler Clementi.
